BEGINNER CAMPING & HIKING WEEKEND- CONNEMARA
Have you always wanted to go camping, but never knew where to start, or who to go with? Look no further! This beginner camping weekend is for you! Based in the beautiful Connemara mountains, we will learn all the ins and outs of camping, from how to pitch a tent, the different types of tents, sleeping mats, sleeping pads, to cooking in the wild.... all this while overlooking the sea. There will be hikes, there will be swims, there will be games... and all the best quality camping gear is included (tent, mat, sleeping bag, stove, camping food for the evening and morning).
ITINERARY
1.30pm: Arrive. Meet & Greet :)
1:45pm Opening circle
After getting ready for the hike, we will head to Killary fjord, an easy trail overlooking the beautiful Mweelrea mountain, highest in Connaught!
After the hike, we will then head to our campsite in Lettergesh, 10min away.
4.15pm: Arrival at Connemara Caravan and Camping Park, Lettergesh Beach, Renvyle, Gowlaun, Co. Galway, H91 NR13
We will check in, and distribute the camping gear to each person. Note that a fridge is available in the campsite kitchen facilities, along with a kettle. Your host will go through the different components of your camping gear and sleep system, the different options available, what is important, and will give you a demonstration on setting up a tent. You will then team up with your tent buddy and set up your camp together. Please feel free to bring your own tent if you want to test how to set it up. Once everyone is set, we will explore the nearby beach for an evening dip.
7pm: After some chill time, we will gather and get our dinner ready using your provided cooking stoves. Your host will explain different types of stoves available, how to use them, and the different options available for dehydrated meals (including ones you can make at home). The evening will be spent with games and chats.

8am: Good morning! We will slowly get up and cook our provided breakfast using our stoves. We will then prepare our bags for the day hike, and strike camp and pack our camping gear. Today, we are heading to Letter hill (also known as Tully hill)!
